ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR

(Permanent position – site based)

Purpose :

• Assist Environmental Superintendent in providing a service of guidance, surveillance, governance and day to day onsite monitoring of HSES management system around the Exploration Project. He/she also shall mainly focus in implementing environmental and biodiversity related programs, monitoring, inspection and audit in accordance with BHPB Group Level Document (GLD) and Indonesian Statutory HSES requirements, to achieve company’s commitment to conduct all activities with zero harm to people and environment.

Core Accountabilities :

• Assist Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Superintendents in maintaining and updating the Project's HSES Management System in accordance with BHP Billiton GLDs and Indonesian Statutory Requirements  
• Facilitate and assist HSES Superintendent and contractor team to identify and assess the risks/impacts for the activities of their areas
• Establish an effective strategic/ system of Environmental and Biodiversity management audits/ inspection process to periodically measure performance against plan and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Provide pro-active advice to Exploration project team and sub contractors on site in all level on Environmental and Biodiversity policy, standards and procedures and emerging best practice standards
• Facilitate technical expertise on investigations cause analysis methods to any incident or HSES related issues and monitor the defined action plans/ recommendations to prevent remedial events.
• Updating and reviewing Environmental and Biodiversity standards and procedures to meet with working conditions
• Provide consultancy services and solid advice to all project operations on compliance of environment and biodiversity with government requirements
• Provide results of environment and biodiversity management and monitoring plan to ensure the project operates in line with BHPB HSES Standards and Indonesian government requirements
• Improve environmental and biodiversity management system for the projects execution activities.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities :

• Bachelor or Post-Graduate degree in Forestry / Agriculture / Environment or other relevant.
• AMDAL and POP / POM Certificate is preferred
• At least 5 years experience in exploration, mining operation or environmental services
• Exposure to best practice in mining environmental and biodiversity management and monitoring, studies management system.
• Familiar with environmental management system
• Leadership/Supervisory skills and able to make decision under pressure
• Strong capability team building
• Familiar to conduct/ facilitating Risk Assessment
