A large MNC is looking for :

 

Senior Horticulturist

Jakarta Raya

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Train and supervise junior personnel in nursery operations and the proper methods or techniques of planting
• Train ground personnel in the techniques of pruning, wound dressing and bracing of trees and shrubs
• Prepare orders for various types of plants and seeds
• Assist in the maintenance programs for the control of plant diseases
• Confers with landscape architect in the selection of plants
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of all matters at all times and essential overall knowledge of the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Post Graduate degree in horticulture or agriculture from an accredited University or an equivalent combination of education and Diploma holder with at least 5 years work related experience
• Good knowledge of principles of supervision and landscaping
• Thorough knowledge of ornamental horticulture in phases
• Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation
• Ability to demonstrate trust, loyalty integrity, respect and professionalism
• Ability to conduct experiments, investigations and determine methods of breeding, planting, cultivating and harvesting
• Ability to supervise the operations of machinery, equipment and material handling in line with the companys standard
• Advise on the selection and ordering of plants, planting, grow potted plants, check nursery stock
• Maintain records on the growing operations and maintenance of trees and plants in the nursery
