AGRONOMIST

Responsibilities : 

• Lead and Execute agricultural programs of PMI leaf Suppliers (internal and external) in the assigned area of responsibility to ensure the availability of tobacco that meets PMI requirements and to promote the Implementation of Good Agricultural Practices.
• Monitor and guide the execution of tobacco growing projects with PMI and third party suppliers in PMI's (specify) region to implement new / improved production practices and to develop new origins.
• Assist in the guidance of PMI affiliates with contracted grower operations and PMI Leaf suppliers to ensure supply of tobacco that meets PMI’s leaf quality / integrity and cost requirements.
• Monitor and promote implementation of Good Agriculture Practices of internal and external leaf suppliers via the PMI GAP program.
• Assist to liaise with stakeholders for the efficient execution of tobacco growing programs with government participation.
• Participate in worldwide PMI Agricultural Programs activities to assure that direction (leaf quality / integrity and Good Agriculture Practices) is communicated to suppliers in a consistent and effective manner.
• Train and provide guidance to Asia VI and supplier ALP Country Teams on implementation of PMI ALP code
• Communicate OC perspective on ALP  implementation
• Help ALP Country team flag issues to OC and work on appropriate responses
• Participate, as needed, in meetings with Senior Management Team and ALP Country Team

 

Requirements :

• English is a must, both written and spoken.
• Should have exposure and interest in agronomy
• Bachelor degree from any background
