MANAGER SITE HSE
Permanent position – Site Based
PURPOSE
This key leadership role manage all field/site activities in relation to Health Safety, Environmental and Biodiversity activities to support the project, covering the management of all personnel, processes, systems, policies and procedures for the following areas of operational activities, encompassing all different site locations across the geographical spread of business locations of our Central Kalimantan project, for the following areas of our business: Exploration, Projects and Operations.CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Developing and maintaining the Project's HSE Management System in accordance with BHP Billiton HSE Group Level Documents, Charter, Policies and Indonesian Statutory Requirements
- Ensure that all aspects of HSE in 1SAP are managed appropriately in line with Group HSEC expectations
- Integrate the requirements of the Management System in compliance recognised international standards into the Project's HSES Management System and ensure that the system is applied effectively across the IndoMet Coal Project (IMC)
- Manage all HSE staff across the different site locations, for Exploration, Projects and Operations
- Facilitate and assist line management to identify and assess the HSES risks/impacts for the activities of the specific site areas
- Maintaining the specific site HSE action registers
- Prepare and manage the HSE Management Plan required for the specific site requirements and relevant phases of work associated with each site location
- Ensure that staff are properly inducted/trained, supervised and assessed and comply with regulatory and BHP Billiton HSE standards and policies
- Facilitate the education/training of all project personnel in all aspects of HSE management and build awareness of the project and individual responsibilities in HSE management
- Provide pro-active advice to each site management team and all team leaders on regulatory issues and emerging best practice standards in the area of health safety environmental and biodiversity management
- Manage budgeting and controlling on operating expenses for each of the site HSE activities
- Ensure that HSES works are conducted in accordance with the approved budget and schedule; maintain effective and efficient work practices to control the budget
- Provide results of impact assessments and monitor the implementation of HSE management and monitoring plans to ensure that each of the site locations operate in line with the BHP Billiton HSE Standards and Indonesian government requirement
- Bachelor or Post-Graduate degree in Health Safety and Environment or other relevant
- Exposure to best practice in mining, project and HSE and biodiversity management and monitoring, studies management system
- Relevant experience in exploration, projects mining operation, or HSE services
- Familiar with HSE management systems
- High level of communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in English language
