The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Based in New York City, with offices throughout the United States and worldwide, the Rainforest Alliance works with people whose livelihoods depend on the land, helping them transform the way they grow food, harvest wood and host travelers.
The Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Division works with farmers to ensure compliance with the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) standards for protecting wildlife, farm land, workers’ rights and local communities. The Sustainable Agriculture Division consists of the Sustainable Landscapes Program, the Sustainable Value Chains Program, the Traceability Unit and Program Administration. The work of the Manager, Asia-Pacific Region, Sustainable Agriculture Division is closely linked with colleagues at Rainforest Alliance’s London and Costa Rica office.
Within the Sustainable Agriculture Division, the Sustainable Landscapes Program provides training, develops training materials and local interpretation guidelines. Project development, fundraising, project implementation, budgeting and financial reporting are further key activities under the Sustainable Landscapes Program.
