FARMER COMMUNITY AND EMPOWERMENT SUPERVISOR

Job Purpose:

• To support the sustainability strategy and initiatives of the business related on farmers empowerment and community empowerment and development to be able to achieve and ensure the long term goal of cocoa sustainability.
• The position is responsible for facilitating, promoting, and ensuring the farmer and community development, monitoring the farmer’s empowerment and transfer initiatives in order to secure and monitor opportunities the cocoa farming business.

Responsibilities:

• Manage business compost development program including :
  • Monitor and Implement business compost development program,
  • Participate in impact monitoring of the business compost development program,
  • Coordinate collaboration work with NGO’s on developing, implement and monitoring compost business program.
• Coordinate process of synergy business farming development and farmer empowerment with field transfer technology.
• Manage farmers and community empowerment program, including developing and overseeing program’s annual planning and timely, high quality implementation of activities and deliverables; monitoring evaluating program implementation and deliverables; and reporting to capture lessons learned and best practices related to cocoa farming and community strengthening.
• Provide technical assistance, support and information to partner  NGO’s, local government entities and others institutions on farming community strengthening activities in areas
• Conduct research and offers recommendations about farmer and community empowerment opportunities
• Identifies areas that need transfer of power and responsibilities and puts farmers and community  empowerment program into practice
• To empower cocoa farmers and cocoa communities, through skill development initiatives to take ownership of their own development
• To promote integrated farmer and community development and productivity improvement, with the purpose of improving the quality of life and the standard of living of farmers.
• Supervise local staff and annually evaluate their performance
• Communication with all relevant parties.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy (prefer social and economy), environmental science, or related field or minimum 3 years business experience in sustainability, agriculture or related business function.
• Good knowledge of business practice, small holder production systems, excellent understanding of commodity supply chains and the various.
• Good Communication and Interpersonal skills, analytical, planning, integrity and be able to work under pressure.
• To be able to work in the remote area and be able to dealing with internal and external Party (Farmer, Collector and other stake holders)
• Good computer literature and fast learner.
• Good in English (Written and spoken).
